About the role:
You will provide timely maintenance of the landscaped infrastructure at Manchester Airport
You will undertake the maintenance of the interior landscaping within the terminal buildings and various office units as directed and carry out landscape maintenance to the highest standard observing best horticultural practice
Principal Accountabilities;
Ensure the completion of scheduled maintenance programmes on time and to approved standards, complying with health and safety and other applicable regulations
Ensuring that the green estate around Manchester Airport is maintained in a way that enhances the site but does not compromise operational safety
Maintain the interior landscaping observing best practice according to each species, and variety, in a clean and disease free condition
Liaise with the Landscape Supervisor and attend inspections of areas within the green estate at pre-determined frequencies to allow rolling work programmes to be implemented
Ensure that all machinery used in the maintenance of the green estate is maintained in a safe condition, that all daily checks are carried out as recommended by the manufacturer and that any faults are reported promptly to the Landscape Supervisor
Be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety, safe working practices and legislation relevant to the External Engineering Unit
Undertake any training that may be required to achieve the above
Work to achieve any departmental targets that may be set for the unit as part of MAG’s values and behaviours
Knowledge, experience and skills:
It is essential that you have a professional qualification in Amenity Horticulture/Landscape Maintenance/Arboriculture – Minimum RHS level 2 or equivalent –
Pa1/Pa6 safe use of pesticide certification would be advantageous to the application
CS30 & CS31 chain saw units is desirable but not essential
Full UK driving licence is required preferably with trailer towing experience
The ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
