Electrical Facilities Technician

Job Purpose
Working as part of a small team the successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance of the airports electrical systems, including: single & three phase power, lighting, UPS, power generators, pumps, motors. As part of the Technical Services team the successful applicant will also be responsible for maintaining the terminal systems and supporting external infrastructure on the airport, it is essential that the successful candidate is willing to support these additional areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities and Objectives

Maintaining the airports electrical systems in accordance with current legislation
Maintaining a detailed register of the airport’s electrical assets along with associated drawings and schematics
Ensuring that all fixed wiring is periodically inspected and tested in accordance with current legislation
Installing new electrical services/systems in accordance with current legislation
Ensuring that all faults are prioritised and resolved in a timely fashion so that down time is kept to an absolute minimum
Maintain airport specific systems/equipment in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
Maintain building services and building fabric in accordance with ACoPs, national guidelines and or LSA procedures
Promote safe working practices at all times, this includes the development of task specific risk assessments
Liaise/escort third party contractors at times to support the Facilities Team
Identify and report the need for major repairs
Ensure that all maintenance facilities and equipment are used in accordance with current health and safety regulations, and that good housekeeping standards are always maintained
To undertake any other reasonable task as requested by the Technical Services Manager, subject to being trained and competent to do so
