This is more than a job; it’s a career that supports people to live life to the full.
We are seeking friendly and creative Support Workers to join us at our busy resource centres in Liverpool. The centres provide specialist support for people with ASC.
We are committed to working alongside the people we support to achieve the best possible outcomes. We offers autism specialist personalised support for young people in transition, and adults with autism spectrum conditions, both within the centres and outside in the wider community. We are also further developing our Outreach support to people in the community and within their own homes. The support we deliver is flexible and unique to each individual building on their strengths and driven by their motivation.
We work with each individual to develop interests and goals. Activities at the centres include:
Arts & Crafts
Pottery
Outward bound walking groups
Textiles
Lifelong learning skills such as cooking
IT suite – developing technology skills
Physical well-being – exercise, outdoor gym equipment
We are looking for people who can bring their passion and enthusiasm to the role in order to achieve positive outcomes for the people that we support. The range of activities can reflect the skills, knowledge and experience of the post holder, but will also need to meet the wishes of the people that we support.
In return, we will provide you with ongoing training and development, including supporting you to obtain your Diploma Level 2 qualification. Given the nature of this role, successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, the cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.
This is a truly rewarding role, with the opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge and fulfil your career aspirations.
Throughout the COVID 19 pandemic we continue to prioritise the safety of our staff and people with autism; we are working together to make sure that we reduce risk of infection and support everybody’s wellbeing as we go through this challenging time.
At the moment, our interviews are being conducted remotely to minimise risk and ensure we are adhering to government guidelines. Autism Initiatives provide staff with appropriate PPE to ensure the safety of our staff and people with autism and reduce the risk of infection.
From October 2021 following Parliamentary approval and a subsequent 16 week grace period, anyone working in a CQC registered care home in England for residents requiring nursing or personal care, must have had 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, unless they have a medical exemption.
